and "iPod". iPod is a device manufactured and made from Apple's MP3
player.

the new gadget “Podcast”. It also defines it as a digital recording of a radio
broadcast or similar program, available on the Internet for downloading to
personal audio player dictionary. Furthermore, it has been soon made popular
thanks to the fact it is simple and easy to use and also because it is

technology. Simple Podcast is, it is a digital audio event recorder (MP3 file)

for the education context. Moreover, podcasting is a simple process of
capturing human voice. Therefore, has been substantially used in the e-learning
based education.
Potential users of podcast for education should make sure they have
a hosting site somewhere on the Internet, which is capable of holding and
distributing their podcast.
How is podcast useful to high education?
The technology of podcasting has reached the Society of Information
and is revolutionizing the way teachers teach and the way learners learn inside
and outside the classrooms. It also gives students a chance to opt for lectures
with timing that suits them accordingly. After all, students often seem to be hand
in hand with every cutting edge gadget, literally, with their iPods. It is easy
to imagine students using the devices to make up for lectures they missed, or
to brush up on key concepts as final exams approach and help to create an
ambience of flexibility in time and space. Otherwise lecturers may be perfectly
comfortable recording themselves.
Many universities are using a free service from Apple called iTunes
U to handle the distribution of course casts. But institutions can also set up
their own online distribution systems, which give professors greater control
over how they present their content. To add, a growing number of companies offer tools
designed to capture audio and even video and PowerPoint slides from college
lectures so that material can be broadcast beyond the classroom.
Academics from many areas of education are showing interest in
podcasting for education, and the first results of research in this field demonstrate
the benefits learners gain through podcasting. Chan and Lee (2005) and Lee et al.
(2007) studied the use and the advantages of podcasts in undergraduate courses
and concluded that informal short audio clips help to address students’
anxieties and concerns about the course content and it also help to increase
the sense of belonging to a learning community for distance education students.
Reported the use of podcasts to bring an authentic cultural experience to
students’ learning English as a second language
In another hand the student can use podcast if they miss the class
or would get some idea for a new subject even they well know method of
lectures. Podcasts can help to create an ambience of flexibility in time and
space they can use a podcasting application to subscribe to a particular show,
schedule the application to download the next available episode, and then
listen to the show on their MP3 player when they want to in the metro, in the
car, in the bus, in the gym, etc .Through podcast we can enrich the academic aspects.
If the lecturer is to record the same subject, he has to take into
account the following guidelines:
· thinking about
specific to podcast
· Creating a podcast
· Recording podcast
episodes must be mp3 format
· Uploading the podcast
episodes on a webpage
· Creating an RSS feed for
the podcast webpage
